Tooled Leather Card Holders
Designed for a concert goer’s best friend, I created the card holder to hold the essentials. Each leather card holder has at least one fully-tooled side, with no specific side being the front or back. Although it starts off stiff, overtime leather will relax and stretch out with wear. It can hold 5 cards and a small wad of cash! Each one is one-of a kind, so once it is gone, its gone!
Fireworks: Using a dark turquoise, scarlet red, yellow ochre and cream I painted each petal on the sunflower a little different. The closer the petals are to the center the lighter they get. I loved the idea of creating distance with the paints rather than just relying on their natural position.
Fern: Meshing my love for both the traditional Southwest colors and the temperate ferns allows me the room to play with things not typically paired.
Tiger: She fiercely stares directly into your soul with her gold metallic eyes.
Forest Floor: In this scene, the scale of the vegetation was manipulated to give the holder the feeling of being on the forest floor. I focused on natural earth tones, to capture the essence of life at this level.
Succulent: Using a green gradient to crawl up the jade-like plant to give movement to the piece. Each diamond and scallop stamp was hand painted using delivering a distinctive border.
Midnight Rose: Natural Beauty does not rely on the presence of light. Using small highlights of pink, purple and yellow to illuminate the subtle angles of the flower at night.
Peacock: This feather was just a slight tweak of colors away from the traditional coloring. Slightly more subdued, she commands attention when close by.
Desert Lily: Although the design was inspired by my own personal Mila handbag, I pulled the palette from the warm pastels of the desert.
Dimensions:
3 ⅝” tallest point to 1 ¾” shortest point
2 ¾” wide
